Ooi Ley Ching, a Malaysian female aged 43, is the Financial Controller.

She is responsible for overseeing and managing the accounting and financial functions of our Group.

Ooi Ley Ching graduated with a Diploma in Business Studies (Accounting) with Merit from Tunku Abdul Rahman College in 2003. She obtained a Bachelor of Science (First Class Honours) in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University, United Kingdom in 2005.

She has been a member of the ACCA and MIA since 2011.

She began her career in 2003 as an audit assistant performing financial and statutory audits as well as preparing tax computations for clients initially with HB Tiong & Partners and later with GW Soon & Partners. In 2007, she joined Daxon Technology Sdn Bhd as an Accountant, where she was responsible for managing the financial affairs of the company, including preparing budgets, and audit processes. Subsequently in 2009, she left Daxon Technology Sdn Bhd and joined Amlex Technology Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Amlex Holdings Berhad (a company listed on the LEAP Market of Bursa Securities), as an Accountant where she was gradually promoted to Financial Controller in 2011. During her tenure with the company, her responsibilities was to oversee the company’s finance department, costing matters and budget preparations. Thereafter, she joined Southern Steel Berhad and Ken Prima Cosmeceuticals Sdn Bhd before rejoining Amlex Technology Sdn Bhd in 2016 assuming the same designation of Financial Controller. She was also tasked with the listing of Amlex Holdings Berhad on the LEAP Market of Bursa Securities. In conjunction with the listing exercise, she was transferred to Amlex Holdings Berhad as a Financial Controller in 2020. She left Amlex Holdings Berhad in 2021 and founded her own business principally involved in accounting services and financing arrangements which has since been terminated.

She joined our Group as a Financial Controller in October 2021.

Ooi Ley Ching is an Independent Non-Executive Director of Cnergenz Berhad, a company listed on the Main Market of Bursa Securities, where she is also the Chairman of the Audit and Risk Management Committee, and a member of the Remuneration Committee and Nomination Committee.
